Truette's crib went up on Sunday and a million pounds instantly lifted off my shoulders. I washed all her little clothes we have for her last night. We still have a lot we need to get but it's so nice getting settled in and preparing for her in SEVEN weeks!
The house is 5 miles from Ricky's job so he comes home for lunch and we are able to have dinner as a family. He is literally gone from the kids 2.5 hours a day. It's really working out. Plus, it's a lot safer on his drive home.
The kids LOVE our new house. They are so excited about everything. We got new couches and they kept saying thank you and how much they loved them. We bought the girls a bed frame that will be in next week and I'm sure they are going to flip out when it's set up. There are a bunch of kids that are our kids age. We haven't really had time to get to know everyone really well but all of our immediate neighbors have come over and have even help move some stuff in.
We traded Ricky's truck in last week. We made a little money off his truck and got a fuel efficient car. With Truette coming, his truck won't fit us anyway and we will be doing a lot of driving this fall when we transfer colleges. So far driving within 5 or so miles, we are getting close to 30 mpg. That is amazing since my Tahoe only gets around 14 maybe 15 if lucky.
Today marks 10 years since my dad has been gone. I can't believe it's already been 10 years. I remember thinking I wouldn't be able to make it when he died and couldn't picture life 10 years later. I'm thankful I'm right where I'm suppose to be all these years later. I do wish my kids had him and I still wish I could pick up the phone and call him every single day.
Well, that is life right now. I'm really not sure I will keep up with the blog after I have Truette. Life is going to be so busy for all of us. I guess I'll see when the time comes.
30 weeks Saturday!
