They wrote this song for me.... ;)
Little Miss {Sugarland}
Little Miss Down On Love
Little Miss I Give Up
Little Miss I'll Get Tough
Don't You Worry 'Bout Me Anymore
Little Miss Checkered Dress
Little Miss One Big Mess
Little Miss I'll Take Less
When I Always Give So Much More
It's Alright, It's Alright, It's Alright
Yeah, Sometimes You Gotta Lose 'Till You Win
It's Alright, It's Alright, It's Alright
It'll Be Alright Again
It'll Be Alright Again, I'm Okay
It'll Be Alright Again, I'm Okay
It'll Be Alright Again, I'm Okay
Little Miss Do Your Best
Little Miss Never Rest
Little Miss Be My Guest
I'll Make More Anytime That It Runs Out
Little Miss You'll Go Far
Little Miss Hide Your Scars
Little Miss Who You Are
Is So Much More Than You Like To Talk About
It's Alright, It's Alright, It's Alright
Yeah, Sometimes You Gotta Lose 'Till You Win
It's Alright, It's Alright, It's Alright
And It'll Be Alright Again
It'll Be Alright Again, I'm Okay
It'll Be Alright Again, I'm Okay
It'll Be Alright Again, I'm Okay
Oh, Lord
Oh, And You Are Loved
Are Loved
Little Miss Brand New Start
Little Miss Do Your Part
Little Miss Big Ol' Heart Beats Wide Open
She's Ready Now For Love
It's Alright, It's Alright, It's Alright
Well, Sometimes You Gotta Lose 'Til You Win
It's Alright, It's Alright, It's Alright
It'll Be Alright Again
It'll Be Alright Again, I'm Okay
It'll Be Alright Again, I'm Okay
It'll Be Alright Again, I'm Okay
It'll Be Alright Again

This week has not been bad but it hasn't been the best. I've decided a few moments ago to switch therapy companies. We are going to use TCH for all therapy needs. I think the kids have come a long way with the team we had but there are certain things I was not comfortable with. Our speech therapist cancels at least one appointment per week. Brody is eating very well now but I've basically winged it to get us there. Our PT is a contract employee meaning she only is paid when she treats the kids. This creates problems when we need to cancel due to appointments or whatever. She informed me Monday that we are 1/3 of her income and with canceled appointments it really affects her paycheck even though, she was on vacation for a week and needed to cancel our standing appointments. Anyway, insurance is paying almost $13,000 per month for therapy services so I want to make sure it is the best there is out there and the care givers are not getting to comfortable because it is an in home setting. Plus, TCH is the best there is.
Since Gracie needs to go back in her leg braces, I put them on her Sunday night. Monday morning her foot was all messed up again. Looks like the braces are going to be gone for good unless the Orthopedic can come up with something else. In other Gracie news, the helmet is amazing! Her head is already so much better than it was and it hasn't even been two weeks yet! She fell asleep on the living room floor tonight and we were just staring at her because she is growing so much. When I picked her up to put her helmet back on her and put her to bed, she had been drooling. Love that little doll. I scheduled her MRI today. She will be having it done at the beginning of June along with X Rays and ultrasounds. She will need to be sedated and we have to be there at 7 am so Ricky will be with us. We don't like that she will be under for this one bit but we know she will be just fine.
Madi is trying to pull up on things. The girl is everywhere these days and she hasn't even mastered crawling yet. I'm going to be in trouble when she is quickly into everything. Last night we were folding laundry and she decided to tip the empty laundry basket over and was trying to crawl in it. And any time we hold her over her crib on our way to lay her down she immediately starts screaming. Not to worry we still make her lay down.
Brody is doing so well with eating. I'm very excited about this because I need to put some meat on his bones. He is doing so much better and is so much more aware of his surroundings. I am so happy and relieved about this.
I cannot believe they will be 10 months on Sunday. Every month I can't believe it's already gone by. Days go so fast. I look up and it's 2, look up again and Ricky's home. I'm thankful I can stay home and raise them. I would be very sad if they were in daycare all day. So much happens during the day that I wouldn't trade for anything.

Triplets' first Easter!!
We've had a great weekend. Yesterday we went to Meme's and hung out for a while. The kids rolled around on the floor and loved their Easter animals.
Today we spent the day at John & Jennifer's. The kids went swimming in a big pool for the first time and loved it. They loved it some much that Brody and Madilynn fell asleep in their floats! Jennifer's mom made lunch that was yummy and we hid eggs for the girls.
Oh and I almost forgot, Brody loves riding on the four wheeler so much. Anytime we are outside at home and the dirt bikes or four wheelers go by he goes crazy loving it but he really loves riding. He naturally put his hands on the handle bars to "drive". John put him on his Harley and started it and he was in Heaven! It was the funniest thing.
It looks like we have a some what busy week. Therapy, ECI, Gracie's helmet, then Lufkin on Saturday!! I love that it's spring and we don't have to worry about so much illness and that the babies are so healthy so we are able to do more things. It is so nice to get out of the house and it not be because we have an appointment.
I did take pictures today but have not got them downloaded to the computer yet. I promise I will soon.
Have a great week!

Leave us alone!!!
There are so many things going on yet we are still bothered by mean spirited people. I just don't get it. Mine and Ricky's plate is full. We don't care about your petty games, your mean spirit, or you in general. Why not just leave us alone? That was the deal. We signed away with an agreement you people would never contact us again. Why keep on? Nothing better to do in your lives? You know who you are. I don't understand why you even keep up with this blog. Remember you wanted this so can't you leave us alone?
Honestly, we just don't get it. We could care less about these people but they try to do anything they possibly can to bring us into their environment. It won't happen. As long as I have a breath in my body my kids will never ever be around these people. Your own child wants nothing to do with you. Isn't that enough?
I will always protect my kids from the Patton family, always. That is my job as a mother to protect my kids from bad situations. That is why a certain someone does not live here. I'm just so over it. If Ricky does not answer your call or text for a very "thoughtful" happy birthday isn't that proof to leave us alone? Oh and good job that you actually contacted him on the right day this year.
We don't contact you, go around you, have anything to do with you. Why won't you do the same?
LEAVE US ALONE.

Things going on around here...
Well, I've been completely lazy this entire week. I've taken the week off from therapy, doctors, and running. Sometimes you just have to stop and take a breath. Since I've had the week off you would think I would have taken the time to get organized, catch up on laundry, organize, organize, did I say organize? But no such luck. For one, we've all been struggling with allergies and two, I'm wiped out- exhausted.
Since tomorrow is already Thursday!!! I will try to at least get our information off the old computer and onto our new MAC (still loving it) and try to do some house cleaning. No promises though.
I don't really have any other news that is good anyway. Ricky's parents are at it again with court papers, etc. What happened to never contacting us ever again? Whatever! Winning (in my best Charlie Sheen voice) :)
I'll update soon and maybe add some pictures to this blog.

quick update
Madi is in the crawl position and rocking away. It won't be long until she is following me everywhere. Her tooth is coming in more.
Gracie has adjusted to her helmet so well and is now wearing it 23 hours per day.
Brody isn't doing to good. He isn't gaining weight so he is super long and skinny. He has some sort of rash on his face right now. I'm giving it another day before I call the Pedi.

weekend fun
We had such a great weekend.
Saturday we went to Lufkin to visit my aunt. The kids did so great on the way up there. They were introduced to chickens for the first time :) and Ricky and I ate better than we had in months! We love going up there because it feels like what home should be. My aunt and uncle are such wonderful people always so kind and real. We stayed all day and the way home was fine but Brody did fuss a little.
Today the neighbor across the street made homemade authentic Mexican food. It was literally the best Mexican food we've ever had. We ate outside with her, her husband, and two other neighbor families. It was a wonderful ending to a perfect weekend!
Madilynn's tooth is steadily coming in. She is now crawling backwards and is getting around very well on her tummy.
Brody is still loving his feet, gets around well on his tummy, and is focusing a lot better on people.
Gracie is now rolling all the time, she sleeps on her tummy, loves her feet, and really loves playing with her tongue.
All 3 are drinking out of sippy cups! I'm so excited about this!!!

Another Friday.... already?
It amazes me how fast each week goes by. They never went this fast when a was in the work force.
Anyway, we have had an incredibly busy week and as we are going into the weekend I've realized a couple of things: 1 it is way to hard for me to go to appointments by myself with triplets. 2 no matter what the doctors tell you or point out that is "not normal" about your children, they are still literally my hearts outside of my body and no matter what we go through or what happens, end the end we will be fine all 5 of us.
On that note, Wednesday the kiddos had therapy and we got our house painted, Thursday we finished getting our house painted and we had Gracie's appointment in the Medical Center with Genetics.
How is this statistic: only 50% of the time they are able to find out what a child has. Seriously? So you want me, the control freak I am to be able to have all these doctors- you included Mr. Genetics point out all these "flaws" with my sweet little love only to never have a name, answer, how to treat, anything? Well, on with the info from the appointment.... my favorite part was when he told me that Gracie and I have the same shape eyes. He pointed a lot of things out that I'm not ready to share and I may never be. We are going to do an MRI of her brain, blood test, XRays of her entire body- every bone, and if the blood work shows anything then we will be back ASAP but if not we will be back in 4-6 months. They will want to follow her for years since this isn't something that just changes or goes away. I do want to make it very clear that there is nothing WRONG with Gracie and she is NOT DEFORMED or anything but there are a couple of little quirks we need to figure out so we all know how to proceed with things as minor as therapy. With that being said, I'm EXTREMELY guarded about her and the other two so please know if you say a single negative thing about them or this then I will shut this blog down in a second. Ricky and I will not tolerate ignorance.
On a much happier note... Gracie got her cranial helmet today!! I'm telling you there is not a cuter little girl in a helmet. The pink fits her little personality to a T. Her name fits her perfectly because again, she handled it with such grace and with a smile. There is something about her and I wish those who haven't could meet her. She touches your soul.
Wish us luck on our road trip. We are so excited to get out of the house and we LOVE where we are going!! I will post pictures of our weekend when we get back on Saturday night. Sunday our sweet little neighbor is making homemade Mexican food (because I asked her) Love Mrs. Lupe!!
Have a great weekend!

Ears
Today the kids had their hearing screens. Great news is they hear great and their ears are great!
The appointment was so cool. They first took a picture of both ears. This would show if there is any fluid or pressure build up. Luckily, no one had either! The second step, they put little ear phones into the ear canal, and then noise is transmitted through, this then shows on the computer the hairs moving in their ears. This shows if you can hear and how well. Isn't that so awesome? The coolest thing was when Gracie was up the lady had not start the sound but Brody started fussing and we could see that she was hearing her brother and how well she heard him. So neat!
In other news, Gracie will get her cranial helmet on Friday. We were not sure she would get it and thought the process would have to start over due to the clinics mistake but after a long conversation with the CEO, all is settled and my little love will be even cuter come Friday afternoon :) I really don't know why companies don't do the right thing the first time but it makes life so much more stressful... jeez!
Tomorrow we have triple therapy, Thursday Gracie has her Genetics appointment, Friday she has her head ultrasound, helmet fitting, and PT has to make up her appointment, and Saturday we are out of town for the first "road trip". Wish us luck :)
Oh and let me not forget, Madi has her first tooth coming in. Poor thing is miserable. We couldn't figure out why she was so fussy and not wanting to nap but we understood very quickly when our neighbor pointed out the tooth bubble. You can feel it coming through. Anyway, she has been very clingy the past couple days, we can't put her down without her screaming but all is well. After all, she has to be first at everything since she was born last ;)

Another week
We had a great weekend of doing nothing!! Well we did stuff but nothing was really planned. Saturday we went to Target twice for the kids some spring clothes and the second for swings. We swung by Best Buy after because our computer is on it's last leg. I think we are going to get a MAC but haven't purchased anything yet. Today we went to a car show in our community. It was nice but a little too hot and crazy people trying to touch the babies!!
Anyway, we've got another busy week. Tomorrow is therapy, Tuesday hearing screens, Wednesday therapy, Thursday Genetics for Gracie, Friday our PT has to make up one of the appointments because she is out of town Monday. And oh sweet Saturday... I've got a facial scheduled and I am so excited!
We are trying to decide on the trips' birthday party. It's so hard to figure it out. I went to a neighbor's daughter's first birthday the other day and she had no clue what was going on. A lot of people have never met the babies because their first year we were instructed to keep them in and away so we are excited to introduce them. There are so many things to decide on top of planning for two girls and one boy... what decor?? I've got some time and I will come up with something. Stay tuned...

Life Ain't Always Beautiful {Gary Allen}
Life ain't always beautiful
Sometimes it's just plain hard
Life can knock you down, it can break your heart
Life ain't always beautiful
You think you're on your way
And it's just a dead end road at the end of the day
But the struggles makes you stronger
And the changes make you wise
And happiness has its own way of takin' it sweet time
No, life ain't always beautiful
Tears will fall sometimes
Life ain't always beautiful
But it's a beautiful ride
Life ain't always beautiful
Some days I miss your smile
I get tired of walkin' all these lonely miles
And I wish for just one minute
I could see your pretty face
Guess I can dream, but life don't work that way
But the struggles makes me stronger
And the changes make me wise
And happiness has its own way of takin' its sweet time
No, life ain't always beautiful
But I know I'll be fine
Hey, life ain't always beautiful
But it's a beautiful ride
What a beautiful ride
Well, Gracie's vocal cord is still paralyzed. The doctor does not think it will correct. The reason she is louder is because her right cord is compensating for the left. It looks like she will be facing another surgery when she is around 16-17 years old. He is also ordering for her to have another swallow function to make sure she isn't aspirating when eating. We have to go back to him in October.
This is not the news we wanted. We are very disappointed since this was a human error while in the NICU. We are going to sit on this for a little while to determine how we will proceed with this.
Tomorrow we go to the PM&R. The appointment is at 9 am... yuck! Early appointments are so hard because the kids eat at 9 am plus we have to leave at 8 and there is almost always traffic.
Anyway, whatever! Have a good weekend.

new stuff
I really want to share with everyone about Ricky's new position.
His first day was Monday and I cannot explain to you how happy he is. The past 3 years has been really difficult but I guess you don't see it when you’re living it every day and it becomes your normal. He is home by 5-5:30 every day! That isn't the only good news, the work environment is so much better and he is learning an entire new part in the company so right now he is being challenged and loves the change.
I'm such a firm believer that you should let God direct the path He has paved. There have been so many wonderful things that have happened in our lives and I'm so blessed that Ricky has a stable job with a company he believes in, and he is able to provide for our family. I know he has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders so it is nice for him to not have to work so many hours and enjoy life :)
The week has been going good. The kids had therapy yesterday, today our Nutritionist came for a checkup, tomorrow we have therapy, Thursday Gracie has an ENT appointment, and Friday all three have an appointment with the PM&R Doctor.
I cut all my hair off on Monday... at least 8 inches!!! I LOVE IT! Ricky loves it too. I've gotten so many complements :)
Tomorrow my niece Kelsey will be coming over to spend the day with me and the babies. She has made a great friend with our neighbor so I will have Emmie too while her mom's away on a field trip. I just love it! I had both of them last week and we all had so much fun!! I never thought I would be a kid person :)
Have a great week!! Acknowledge His blessings He has given you!

Roll with the punches
The babies turned 9 months old on Friday. We had a Pediatrician appointment to get the final RSV shot, Hep B, and their checkups.
Brody has gained a good amount a weight and now weighs 15.8. We are very excited about his improvements with eating. He is actually eating 4 food meals and 2 bottles per day!!
The Pedi said for us to lower their formula from 22 calories to 20. "Normal" babies are on 20 calories. This is very good because it mean we will be on track to start regular milk at one year.
Madi is doing great. I asked the doctor about the dots that appear on the top of her head, I forgot what they are called but they are from rapid growth. She is growing so quickly. It's nothing to be concerned with.
Gracie's visit didn't go so well. Well, it started out great.... Every single visit the nurse gets their weight, length, and measurements of their heads, and then they enter all of the information into the computer. Gracie's head is growing way too fast for the rest of her body. The growth from last month to this month is extreme. The doctor said it could be fluid not draining the correct way in her brain or a number of other issues - All of which are concerning. We now are going to do brain scans and see Neurology. There are many other "issues" her wrist are very small and her arms are large, her leg, her foot, her eyes and nose, her neck, her curve that her body makes, and a couple of other things that are concerning. He said that Genetics and Neurology will be able to find out what is going on, what disorder she has, and how we will deal with it. He said he isn't sure what her brain function will be. I asked him if he thought her brain was still bleeding but he does not because she wouldn't be active at all. I kept asking him what his thoughts on all this were but he didn't know. He said that he is just as concerned as I am and he will continue to look over their charts every night to see if he can figure it out but it would take a team of doctors to really pin point all of this. Of course he knows I'm worried and can't help but worry until we have our appointment with Genetics next week. I left there shaken. I was not expecting this after all, we were just going for their 9 month check up. We left and on we went to Gracie's appointment for her helmet. We have never been there and as soon as we met the Orthosis he asked what disorder she had. I looked puzzled and he said we have another patient that looks like she does and I can't remember the name of the disorder, what does she have? I said she does not have anything..... I mean come on. He took a bunch of measurements and scans and proceeded to tell me that she has severe misshape, so severe that her helmet will be covered 100% by insurance. Whatever! I picked her pretty little lite pink helmet, they told us she would get it in a week or two and we left.
I have never been in denial about my kids' situation... ever but when I look at Gracie I see a beautiful little girl that touches your soul with her smile. What I don't see is a disorder or wrong. There is nothing wrong with her but everything right. I just wish people who don't know her would understand how she has fought to live from the moments she was created. I wish people would know how she couldn't move and was stuck together because she had no fluid, how her kidneys didn't work at all, how we were told to plan a funeral, how she was the smallest, how she had all odds against her but she beat them, how she got a deadly intestinal infection and didn't die. I wish those who don't know her would see how special she really is and how she is a true miracle, a living, breathing miracle from God. That is what I wish. I hope her smile is never lost because it is from God. But most of all, I pray that she does not have to go through any more invasive procedures and she can just grow and be happy.
I don't know what the future holds. No one does. What I do know is I will take one day at a time. Deal with what is set in front of us and never forget how lucky we are to have each other and be a family of 5.
