Life

I had the best moment with Brody today. This was the first time he has ever been held up right and he loved it. He snuggled up really close to me. He is such a big boy now. His length is as long as my torso. I can't wait for him to be home so we can snuggle everyday.

Madi should be home tomorrow but I'm not counting on it until she is home. She might have been baby C but she is a "its all about me" child. The nurse has to feed her before all the other babies or she cries the entire time. Ricky was holding Gracie and I was feeding Madi. After I was finished, I put Madi back to say hello to Gracie. Every time I walked over to Gracie, Madi would start crying. After about 3 times, I told her to get over it. She is too funny.

Gracie is doing great. They have her on bolus feeds now. They are trying to get her on bottle feeds this week.

A great friend I haven't seen in over 6 years gave me a TON of baby stuff today. She has two really cute twin girls so that means I have matching outfits for the girls :) I'm so excited for them to start wearing this stuff. We also got half of Toys R Us from her. Everything we didn't have we got and more! I was sorting all the clothes tonight and it hit me that we haven't really bought very many clothes and we have so many. It has been a real blessing all the things that have been given to us. These babies are so loved by so many people.

On another note, I resigned from my job last week. It was really weird and is still a weird feeling. It was necessary because there is no way I can work right now. The babies will have OT in and out of the house as well as many appointments but I've stepped out of my comfort zone in putting my career on hold.

We painted Brody's room and put his crib together this weekend. His room is going to be so darn cute when finished.

With everything that happened with Brody on Friday I forgot to update how our room in went with Madi. If you don't know, we stayed the night with Madi in a room at the hospital. She did really well. When they delivered her to our room, Ricky said, "I'm so freaked out"! It was really funny but he did well. Honestly, I was a little freaked out myself since we were just trained hours earlier on her apnea monitor. Anyway, we woke up every 2.5 hours to give her medication, change her diaper, and feed her. Well, I say we, anytime Madi made a noise I shot up out of bed. Not sure how that happened because I was exhausted and sound asleep. She was fine every time but I would wake up so fast it startled Ricky every time so he woke up too. By morning we were so exhausted. It was awesome having her with us. I held her a lot. Ricky changed a poop diaper. Well, he attempted but he kept saying he was going to throw up and "dang baby you stink really bad", so when she decided she was not going to stop pooping during the change and he kept his nose covered with his shirt, I decided to jump in their and finish the job. I did tell him to suck it up because we have three babies and he will be changing a poop diaper and I don't care if he throws up. Anyway, it was really funny. We have a lot to learn and many memories to make. I will post as I find time.

Have a great week!

Visiting at home

There have been changes added to the visiting requirements. Please read below and make note of the changes. Also, have you got your Flu shot? If you plan on visiting you need to get it and make sure you don't get sick before you visit. This means don't stop and get your shot and head to the house :) Oh and if you think I'm bad aka protective you should see Ricky :o)

WELCOME! We are happy you are here

In order to keep the babies healthy and out of the hospital, we must follow these strict guidelines:

No Children visitors

No visitors that are sick, not feeling well including allergies within 48 hours

No visitors if you have been around someone sick within the last 48 hours

No visitors that are not up to date on shots including Flu shot

Take your shoes off

Use sanitizer for hands and arms, rub in until dry

In order to hold you must have:

Clean clothes with no perfumes

Not smoked or been around a smoker in the clothes you are wearing

Although, we are excited for you to visit our babies, it will not hurt our feelings if you can’t visit until you can meet these guidelines. We would rather everyone be healthy and happy than take any chances. Since the babies are preemie, the slightest illness can put them back in the hospital.

Thank you for understanding.
