Can anyone believe the babies are 14 months old today? This time last year, Madi was getting ready to come home, Gracie was recovering from NEC, and we were devastated with the unknown of Brody being blind after his eye surgery, and let us not forget he was still on life support! What God can do in a years time is such a huge confirmation.
We only had one appointment today. Brody and Gracie got their leg braces. Gracie's is decked out in Disney princesses and Brody's in Disney Cars. The best thing is they don't hurt them at all! WHOO HOO! I love that. We had to go buy both of them tennis shoes and tomorrow Ricky will drop Gracie's shoes off at the Orthosis to be built up for her leg with the contracture. {Ok, I'm going to be totally human right now: I hate that they wear braces. I hate that one of Gracie's shoes will be higher than the other} I'm so happy that these types of tools are out there to help them be as successful they can be. I know a year from now we will be in a different place just like we were this time last year.
Speech therapy has started for Brody and Gracie. Brody of course has a ton of feeding issues so they will be working on that. With Gracie's paralyzed vocal cord, they will be working on a lot of speech stuff. The little sounds we love can not be anymore. It is actually a bad thing for kids with cord problems so when she is making those noises, we have to redirect her. How in the world are we going to redirect a 14 month old? Anyway.... we will do our best!
When we finally got home today, I started my school work. After a very short time, I noticed I was really hot. Then it smelled like the heater was on..... Oh yes, the AC broke AGAIN (that makes two times this HOT summer) so Ricky came home to deal with it. Could I deal with it? Yes but I'm not taking anything else on right now :)
The other little thing going on right now is someone is being super sneaky! Ricky and my best friends are up to something about my birthday coming up but I don't know what! AND IT'S KILLING ME! I've also came to terms that 25 won't be bad because I will still be younger than almost all my friends :) So there you have it!
