We decided to put our house on the market
I think God has a great sense of humor. It was just the beginning of September around my birthday when I was thinking of goals I wanted to accomplish in the next 3 years before the big 30. I mentioned that we needed to decided if we wanted anymore children because I wouldn't have any after age 30. Little did we know that just 2 weeks later we'd find out we were having another little baby! That's life! You just roll with it and appreciate all the blessings and lessons along the way. We are so excited about 2014 and cannot wait until May to meet Truette Hope!
Happy New Year!

"Until we have seen someone's darkness we don't really know who they are. Until we have forgiven someone's darkness, we don't really know what love is." -Marianne Williamson
Christmas was awesome with the kids. They were so excited and appreciative of everything thing they received. We opened gifts Christmas Eve afternoon. I can never wait! Santa came the next morning and we were up around 4:30am. Madi got an art easel, Brody got a basketball goal, and Gracie got a Little Mermaid vanity set. Ricky got me a gift certificate to my favorite spa and some pajamas. He got some gun he wanted, cologne and a hat.
We didn't go to Dallas. We canceled that trip when all the sickness hit. So glad we did! We've been hanging out around the house for a couple days. It's been great to not go a single place and nap!! I'm all about naps these days- for me! Ricky had to go back to work today but I believe is off this weekend. We still need to have Christmas with my brother and his family.
We have a busy month ahead with getting the house ready to put on the market, putting it on the market, figuring out mine and Ricky's school, finding another place to live, and regular life stuff. The only thing we have for Truette is a sheet! I'm half way through the pregnancy and she will be here before we know it so we've got to get it together. Just seems kind of pointless with knowing we are moving. Anyway, much to be thankful for. Update soon.

updates
Brody and Gracie were admitted into the hospital Friday night. They were released today (Sunday) around lunch. They did NOT have the flu but some type of virus that wiped them out. They were very critical Friday night when they arrived. Brody's blood sugar was in the 20's and Gracie's was in the 40's. That is dangerously low. Gracie was not responsive for a short period of time- it was a terrifying experience. They pushed 100cc of sugar water type IV fluids of course there is a name but I don't know what the fluids were called. They couldn't start the fluids they really needed until blood sugar came up. Anyway, it was a really long night in the ER getting them both stable. Friday was Ricky's first day back to work in a week due to us being so sick with the flu and he was in charge so couldn't leave. It's probably best he wasn't because it's very hard for him to see them in a critical state. Anyway, he got to us around 1am and we were put into a room around 2am. Luckily my brother met me at the ER to get Madi. She stayed two nights and had the time of her life. She has really suffered this past week since she is the only one that didn't get sick.
Anyway, we are all on the mend around here. I'm so thankful we are all home and can be together for Christmas. It crossed my mind several times at how lucky I am to have these kids and that I get to have them home with me for Christmas. I think about all the moms that don't have that luxury. This is just a little bump in the road and I'm thankful for that.
We got several Christmas cards this year. Actually more than we usually do. We thank everyone for thinking of our family this season. Aunt Judi & Uncle Daryl, Aunt Cathy & Uncle James, Granny & Big Dad: Thank you all for sending the kids money for Christmas. Your generosity really touches the heart. We love yall much.
Merry Christmas!

Baby Truette's appointment was great Friday. She is a little bit small but the doctor isn't worried. She is developing and growing on track. She has become very active the past couple weeks and it is an ease to my mind every move I feel. I did ask if I could have her on May 30th (my Dad and Pop's birthday) but she doesn't think I can make it that far along. She also said Memorial weekend isn't the best option so I'm going to ask her about May 16th which would be 38 weeks gestation and isn't too uncommon for scheduled c sections. If we can do it that day then Ricky would be able to possibly be off until June 1st which would be awesome since I'll for sure need his help for a good while and can't drive for 14 days after my surgery. Anyway, we will see. We have nothing for her which is crazy because this far along with the trips we had cribs built and a ton of stuff bought. :)

very quick update
Christmas cards have been mailed and oh my stars they turned out extremely cute!
Ricky and I have the flu.
I gave Ricky the flu.
I was in the hospital Sunday because I was so sick and was passing out. They kept me overnight giving me a ton of fluids.
Truette is not in any danger. Her heartbeat was easily found and at their last check was 150 beats.
Ricky made 2 A's and 2 B's to end his fall semester at school. Incredibly proud of that man!
I made 1 A and 1 B.
The kids are on flu medications since they've been exposed to the flu.
We get to see Truette Friday.

There is no passion to be found in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living. Nelson Mandela
Ricky just took his last final exam today for the semester. Super proud of him. It's been really tough for him to take a full college schedule and work full time plus mandatory overtime. Not only did he do it but he did very well in his classes. Nothing comes easy but it will be so worth it in the end.
I have my last final tomorrow. Still undecided if I will take a mini course of Christmas or not. I'm really running out of classes I can take at the local college and we need to figure out quick when we are moving so I know what university to apply to.
I mentioned in the last update that I had to visit a Cardiologist on Friday. Thursday morning I went to my nieces' great grandmother's funeral. I had Brody and Gracie with me. Ricky and Madi were in school. We were standing there and all of a sudden I lost all my hearing, felt like I was going to pass out, and couldn't speak. All I knew was I needed to sit down. My mind was focused on getting Brody and Gracie safely in the car and putting one foot in front of the other to get there. I was pouring sweat which is very odd for me. I finally got to the car and felt like I didn't really have control over what was going on, facial expressions, my vision was messed up, etc. I looked in the mirror and freaked out. My face had no color, my lips were had zero color, my eyes were odd looking. It was not good. Since my surgery, every afternoon between 4-6 I would get really sick. My left arm would start hurting really bad like at the bone, and it would follow with a horrible headache. I would immediately become beyond exhausted. Most days it was everything I could do to get the kids in their beds so I could make it to mine. Anyway, once I was able to hear and speak again, I called Ricky. He is always the first person I want by my side. He left school and told me to call the doctor right away. The doctor said I needed to get into the Cardiologist and would call me back with an appointment. About 20-30 minutes later I was recovered. Tired but recovered. I was able to drive us home and meet Ricky there. My OB office called me back and told me to be at the Cardiologist the next day at 11am. Let me just say that I was in a very well known Cardiologist less than 24 hours later. You say my OB's name and things happen.
The Cardiologist ran an EKG which came back normal. She came in and wanted the full story of what happened. She asked if I'd ever passed out before. I told her just one time in my life which was this past April. She asked if I went to the ER and I said yes, she asked which one, etc. and is in the process of getting my records. She said they shouldn't have discharged me in April. I told her they thought I passed out because of my back injury but she said they should have done more testing on my heart then. Apparently she wants to do a test that can't be done while pregnant. Anyway, she said I have some type of disorder where I pass out. I don't have the name of it because Ricky has the forms but basically my blood pressure gets really low and my blood doesn't get to my heart and brain the way it should which causes me to pass out. She ran other test and I have to follow up with her in two weeks I believe. She called my OB while in the room with me to tell her what she found and poor lady, my OB started barking off orders to her. When they hung up, they "both" insist I see a Neurologist. They want to rule out seizures and make sure I'm not having complicated migraines. Whatever that means. Anyway, the good news this doesn't affect the baby at all and has nothing to do with being pregnant.
It's always something!!

Meet Truette Hope Patton our BEAUTIFUL baby GIRL!
SHE is PERFECTION!
So much to update on. First I'll update about our little GIRL! Dr. Adam said everything looks great with the baby and she is very pleased with the development. We got the screener back for down syndrome and it's negative. Isn't she wonderful!?!?!!!
We had a really long Friday. My OB appointment was at 10:30 that morning but I had to go to the Cardiologist (more on that later) so we didn't get to the OB until 2. As we were walking back, Dr. Adam literally ran past me yelling to her staff she had to go. That is what I love about this women because she drops whatever is going on and gets to her patient every. single. time! The ultrasound technician called me back to do her scan and let us sit in the room. Ricky wasn't in the room right then so as she was scanning, I told her if she can see the gender to please not say until he was in the room. The ultrasound was awesome. The baby was moving around so much and I saw her sweet little feet, hands, and face. Ricky walked in as she was still scanning and he was able to see the baby too. She finished the scan but never said anything so I asked if she was able to tell the gender. She said, "yes, it's for sure a little girl." I started laughing and Ricky said, "oh boy!"He left to get the kids lunch and Dr. Adam came back. As soon as she came in I said, "Can you believe it, we are having another girl!" She said, "Just don't tell Ricky!" LOL We got back in two weeks!!
About her name. If you've been following, you know Ricky refused to have a girl name and we both loved Truett so much. I tried to get him to love Sophie Hope but not matter what, he wasn't changing his mind. He liked Noel but I don't like it at all. I kept wanting Truett to work because we have to have a kid named Truett and this is for sure, mark my words, our last child. Anyway, I asked my friends on Facebook to get a general opinion of Truett for a girl and everyone loved it but some mentioned we should spell it with an e on the end to make it more girly so Truette it is! We believe in names with strong meanings and I can't think of a better name for our daughter than Truette Hope!
We told the kids this morning. Below is how and their reactions.
Yep, pretty much have the best, most adorable little family ever!!!
Update soon.

A VeRy EXCITING week!
We have had the best 5 days! Wednesday, Ricky started his vacation. I had class but before I had to be there I stopped and bought movie tickets to see Frozen. Ricky and the kids met me at the theater right after I got out of school. The movie was really beautifully done. Disney rarely disappoints. Gracie Ann is the BEST person ever to watch a princess movie with. Her reactions are so sweet and just priceless. She sat at the edge of her seat the entire 2 hours. She'd say things like, "oh daddy, look"... it was the best thing ever.
Thursday, was turkey day of course. I was so sick and was throwing up that morning but luckily started feeling better for our lunch. Everyone ate their food and we learned Madi loves ham, like a lot. We laid the kids down for a nap because that night.... we went to Santa's Wonderland!! So this was kind of last minute. It's in College Station which is about 2 hours from home. We usually only do 1 big thing every Christmas because it's so expensive and we already have our stay paid for in Grapevine plus we are going to Moody Gardens in a couple weeks for FREE. Anyway, we decided to just go for it because we only had to pay for Ricky and I! Santa's Wonderland has over 2 million lights in this little old fashioned town that was built out in the woods. We took a horse and carriage through the 37 acres to see all the lights, the kids rode ponies, we ate dinner, had hot chocolate, the kids saw a real reindeer, and a ton of other stuff. It was worth the $80 hands down! The kids couldn't believe all the lights and the atmosphere is just wonderful there.
Friday, we rode around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights.
Saturday, a coworker of mine recently passed away so I went to his funeral. It was so sad because he was only 43 and his youngest of 3 is only 6 years old. It was a really nice service and it was great seeing some people I've not seen in over 3 years. After I came back home and we went to lunch. We rode out to Montgomery/ Lake Conroe/ Magnolia area later to look at different areas.
Sunday, we were going to go out to The Woodlands but we got some unexpected drama with Anthony that landed on our door and kind of messed up our entire past 24 hours. That kid can't turn 18 fast enough.
Anyway, we are putting our house on the market in a couple weeks if not sooner. We are following up on some land but if not we will rent a house about an hour away from where we currently are. We've decided this because Ricky is wanting to apply to A&M's Engineering program and I really want to go to Sam Houston State which would be much closer for both of us. Plus, it's closer to Ricky's job out there, nicer, and we hope to God better schools. We pulled Gracie and Brody out of school today.
We have a really exciting week ahead. Friday we see if this little baby is a boy or girl. We won't actually know until the weekend but Michelle (the kids godmother) will know Friday... EEK!!! We are so excited!!
I'll update soon!
