update

A lot has gone on and we've all been super busy. That's just the way life works. I'm actually going back to work full time and am very excited about my job and being out of the house. I was volunteering at the school many days per week but it wasn't enough to keep me busy. I'm use to raising 4 kids 24/7 and when 3 go off to school all day, Truette and I got a little bored.
The oil and gas industry sucks right now. It's so, so, so bad. Luckily Ricky's job is protected since they have work and his department actually makes money and a lot of it but they've had some really slow times. They've picked back up especially this week, he's worked a lot of hours but I still worry. He tells me not to worry but I guess I read and watch too much news! All we can do is continue to be thankful for he's got a stable job.
He and I went to LA for a night the week of Christmas. We'd never been to a casino together and stayed at the Golden Nugget. It's an extremely nice resort. We had a blast and I won $522.00! It made our entire trip free plus some! It was so fun to be away, we've not done anything since we went to Key West back in 2012.
I'm sure I've left out a million things! We are still looking for land but the market is suppose to get really bad so we want to see if we can get some land super cheap or at least a resonable price when that happens. We really like living on the lake but we'd really like to have land. We have really great neighbors and that's always very important and a big plus.
I'll update again soon.

Truette update

My sweet baby! I have so much to say about her but there isn't enough time in the day. She is just the best! But she is just like Madi which means she is just like me! She has "no" down well. She is so great though! She eats well and is obsessed with drinking. She'll drink two drinks just when she wakes in the morning. She loves guacamole! She actually eats that everyday at school. Yes, at school! She started preschool 1/4/2016 full time. It was a rough start for her and it took everything Ricky and I had to leave her but now she has adjusted well. She will get the pout frown face sometimes when we drop her off but she isn't screaming like she was so that's a plus. We really like where she is and it's a place we trust. Since being there, her vocabulary has taken off. I like that they have a ciriculum they follow even though they are young and believe it or not, she is really learning new things everyday! I finally moved her out of our room a couple months ago. Not because of her but because I'm crazy and just wanted her with me. There is something about knowing she is my last baby ever. It's kind of sad in a way and I just don't want the time to go by so fast like it did with the triplets. Everything with them was rushed because I was fighting so hard to get them caught up. With her I don't want to rush a thing! It's so weird having a child without any delays. We are blown away with how early she is doing things. Like just the other day, she was holding her yogurt with one hand and had a spoon with the other feeding herself! I've not even shown her how to use a spoon yet! She also will go get her own diapers and wipes when she wants to be changed. She is a complete mess and the entire family adores her. She get's so excited when Ricky comes home and when it's time to go get her bubby and sissies from the school bus. She currently LOVES Doc McStuffins, Minnie Mouse, and My Little Pony but Doc is her favorite!
I am so thankful we have her. She really has completed our family.

Madi update

Madi loves school and LOVES her teacher. They have a very special relationship and I'm very thankful for that. Madi loves to learn and you will always catch her with a pencil, pen, crayon, or marker in her hand. She is a very good artist and creates a new masterpiece almost daily. She read Green Eggs and Ham today and Ricky and I were so impressed and shocked! She needed very little help. Hello, she is only 5.5 years old! Madi is still bossy as ever and my mini me. She likes to dress with the same style of clothes I wear and she loves that her teacher says she looks like me. Recently I started doing the girls nails every weekend for the week and she really looks forward to that. She has started asking to play soccer. I'm not sure why since Ricky and I never played nor do we watch soccer but I have wanted to put her in so she can be busy. When she isn't busy she is a nightmare to handle, just being honest! She still thinks she is Brody and Gracie's mom and Gracie finally had to get in some real big trouble because she was calling Madi mom and asking Madi things to ask me! I made it clear who the mom was! Madi is very mature for her age and has fit in very well with school and making friends.

Gracie update

Gracie was also diagnosed with Growth Hormone defincientcy and she started medication last summer. We found a Endorcrinologist closer to home so we were not having to drive to the medical center. Where we live now, the medical center is really far. Since Gracie has so many unknowns, the Endocrin stopped her G.H. treatment but she recently resumed it. However, we stopped it because I want to go holistic with her treatment as well but also because G.H. treatment has a lot of risk- a lot. Gracie has really blossomed at school. This once extremely shy child is that no more. She will actually walk other classmates to the nurse if they need to go and tell the nurse what happened to the child. That is huge for Gracie! She is very confident in many ways but still struggles in certain areas. She loves school but at home she'd rather watch tv than practice writing and especially reading. She really doesn't like to do her site words or reading. She still is more immature than her sibilings and classmates. It's difficult because she is only 5.5 and that puts her the youngest in the class. More on that later. She is very strong willed and we are battling through that. She is very sweet but loves to tattle. She is a very good eater. She shocks us with how much she eats! She is the tallest out of the three and likes to tell the other two so they get mad. We had to tell her she isn't to mention she is the tallest because that causes war between them. Overall she is doing good. If she would try harder in school she'd be doing great but she doesn't so that's that.

I'm back and it's 2016!

Oh my it's been a while! We've had a very busy year. The triplets are 5.5 now and are in Kindergarten. They absolutely LOVE school! That's probably and understatement. They really would be happy to go every single day meaning the weekends as well. We decided to put them in different class rooms. It's one of the best decisions we've made. The only challenge has been when they have a class party or field trip. It's hard to be at 3 different events at one time but I've found a way to make it work. Speaking for field trips, the kids went to a farm back in November. The kids' teachers are so amazing. I volunteered to chaperon but they decided not to give me a group of kids so I could bounce around between my 3. I ended up being the homeroom mom for Brody's class because no other parent signed up to volunteer. It's worked out just fine though. Their school is simply amazing. Like cannot believe this is real life amazing. Before school started, we were told that they hired an aid just for Brody and that this person would be with him 24/7 while at school. We were blown away! We never even asked for one! Turns out, his aid has a ton of experience with vision kiddos and let me just say, this woman is AMAZING! His teacher is AMAZING! Madi's teacher is AMAZING! Gracie's teacher is AMAZING! we really couldn't have asked for better. I'll go into some details about each of the kiddos...
Brody- So we started school and had our boxing gloves on because we'd had such horrific experiences in Humble ISD and Conroe ISD. We really just thought it was because we were in public school and I felt like I was going to need to hire a lawyer and make sure there was bail money set aside for a "rainy day' when dealing with their schooling. And then we moved and have found the best gift ever! This school had everything ready for him on day 1. Like I said, they hired an aid just for him! We'd been fighting with the two previous schools with no action so I didn't even mention to this school because I didn't want to be disappointed. His aid is literally by his side all day long. This little boy has made HUGE progress since August. For one, he is finally potty trained during the day! This is HUGE! He started the year literally requiring his aid to put her hand on top of his for him to be able to write (partly because of muscle weakness but also because of his vision). He doesn't require this anymore. For two report grade periods he has a wonderful reading score and it's actually the highest out of him and his sisters! He is incredibly smart and has really shocked and impressed Ricky and I and the school. He eats lunch every single day with his peers without a problem. Last year, Conroe ISD made his sit in a room alone because they said he couldn't focus long enough to eat. That school also was only teaching him and Gracie life skills so really, they can go jump off a bridge! I so badly want to request a meeting with that old school just to show them how smart and great he is doing but I won't because I don't have that kind of time. Anyway, he is on complete grade level work just like his classmates. We are so incredibly proud of him.
Health wise, well.... in October after searching for answers for 5 years, we finally found a wonderful GI doctor to help us with his lack of weight gain. After doing some additional test and trying some more diet things, we decided to put him on a NG tube feed during the night. It was an incredibly hard decision to make. He was admitted into the hospital overnight to make sure he could tolerate the feeds they were giving him. He did gain weight with the tube feeds but it came at a price. The tube in his nose was messing with his sinuses, we were having issues getting feeding supplies from the home health company, and it was just hard on him to have a tube taped to the side of his face 24/7. Last year all three were finally diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency which FINALLY! I'd been telling these doctors for years their lack of growth wasn't just because they were preemie. Last June we started giving all three nightly shots but because Brody wasn't gaining weight and actually lost a lot of weight (he was looking really bad there for a while), we stopped the shots. His body was growing taller because of the shots but it was spending everything doing so and taking away from him being able to get or keep any weight on. Anyway, in December I actually decided to stop all forms of conventional medication! I've done a lot of research and this year I'm committed to doing holistic treatments only. That means he is also off of Focalin that he took daily. We also found out he cannot tolerate gluten or dairy so he is now on a really difficult diet. Taking him off the Focalin was extremely difficult at first. He was out of his mind for a good two weeks and we still have difficult days but before we decided to give up on medication, the Neurologist had to increase his medication and he was on such a high dose to be so young and small and it was not working so really he needed another increase and I just didn't want that for him. Anyway, things are getting a lot better and luckily his teacher is a hand off medication believer and has been very patient while he adjust and his aid is just amazing and has been more stern with him when needed to make sure he stays on track. It's amazing though, when we took him off Focalin his appetite increased almost instantly! He is constantly hungry. So much so I can't feed him enough! Of course this is very difficult now that he can't have any dairy or gluten but he's eating so healthy, fresh fruits and veggies, and protein. The other thing that was super impressive was how much more he talks now and that he has opinions about things whereas before, he would talk but not much. He had an appointment with his Neurologist last week and I told him we took him off medication. I was afraid he was going to be annoyed with me but he actually supported my idea of this experiment and said why not try since he is blowing every one's mind in school. Overall, we are very excited about what the future might hold for him on this new plan of care and we are just so proud of how he is doing.
I'll write a different post for the other kids since this one is so long.

Life Happens

Wow, so much has changed, like....

WE TOOK THE KIDS TO DISNEY WORLD! For 6 days! On a plane! But so much has happened before that...

Everyday is lake life. We moved to the lake in April after looking for over a year for a house to purchase. It's so nice owning a home again and picking out new finishes, etc. I have big plans for this place one day. Before it started raining (for two months straight), we would go fishing nearly every day. Our house over looks the lake and is really peaceful. The kids LOVE it!

We closed on our house April 2nd which is the same date we closed on our first house. Ricky and I moved us in while the kids stayed at Meme's for the first time ever. Madi got bit by a spider while playing in leaves at Meme's and had to go to the hospital when they got home. Her bite turned black which was scary but after some medicine, it cleared up about two weeks later.

Then we left for Disney April 27th- May 2nd. We told the kids a week before we left. They were so excited. The trip was magical for them and exhausting for Ricky and I. We were walking 6-8 miles a day and didn't get to bed before midnight a single night we were there. We all had a great time there and are so glad we took them.

We came home and it was time for Truette's 1st birthday. How in the world did a year already pass??? We had her party on May 9th at the Country Club in our neighborhood. She is the sweetest little thing EVER and sooooo pretty. My goodness, she is gorgeous!

And now its time to start planning my babies FIFTH birthday! How are the triplets turning FIVE already? I can't believe they start full day school this year and are going into Kindergarten!

Life slips by so fast.

2015!

I can't believe we are already a week into 2015! I now have 4.5 year old kiddos and tomorrow Tuts will be 8 months old. I'm in shock of it all! Time is not on our side. It's more apparent every single day.
We've had a quiet New Year with doctor/ specialist appointments. I LOVE not going down to TCH. It's gotten to the point of dreading going a couple days before the appointments. The entire process just stinks. It takes forever to drive down there, parking is usually an issue and it's so expensive ($13 most days), doctors are rarely on time so you have to wait sometimes over an hour just for the doctor to walk in the door, most trips there are no solutions so it feels like a waste of time, and there is nothing normal about a kid being at TCH so much. Of course we have so much to be thankful for as it could be a lot worse but still, it's not something you imagine while daydreaming.
Brody got a guitar for Christmas and watch out country music because he is the next big star! It's so funny that he is such a little country boy considering we aren't. He'd prefer his cowboy boots any day and cowboy hat if allowed. His deep little man voice when he sings "Country Boys Will Survive" my stars it's precious! He really seems interested in music.
Madi has grown into a beautiful little girl. There isn't much baby about her. She is extremely smart and extremely independent. She is always eager to learn things... anything. She likes to dance and sing and cannot wait for her daddy to take her to the Castle (Disney World). She bosses Brody and Gracie around still but takes a much sweeter side to Truette. And boy does Truette love Madi. Madi's newest thing is when she is 5 years old she will do this or that like mommy and daddy. She thinks 5 years old is a real age to be. I'm just still in complete shock that their 5th birthday is approaching.
Gracie is doing good. She has developed quite the bad attitude. She really gets a rotten attitude often. Sometimes it's because she doesn't want to wear her leg brace, other times it's because she is just in a bad mood. She often does things that only hurt her I guess trying to show whomever she has control. She still is much more immature than Madi although, they do get along well. She is not interested in learning at all and pretty much does not/ will not do any type of "homework". It usually ends in a knock down drag out. I think she sometimes has amnesia and totally forgets she was born to the wrong mother for any of that nonsense. Have mercy! I hope she outgrows it soon.
Truette is always smiling and laughing. She was recently gifted a couple Minnie Mouses and baby dolls from the girls that talk. She is really enjoying them and can make them talk on her own by pushing the buttons. She is on the go now. I was in the kitchen cooking the other day and she crawled from the living room into the kitchen and pulled on my pants to let me know I needed to pick her up. I couldn't imagine not having her in our family. She is the sweetest little baby.
Update soon.

Merry Christmas!

HI! It's been a long while... almost 4 months!

Life has been busy.

Truette is now 7.5 months old! She has two teeth on the bottom and is crawling and trying to learn how to pull up. She actually was found by Ricky a couple days ago standing in her crib. She is the sweetest little thing there ever was! She makes my heart so very happy.
She is weighing in at about 17 pounds these days. She got her ears pierced at her 6 month check up and it was traumatic :). She is eating solid food and prefers it over her formula but I still try to get her at least 3 bottles per day. I recently started her on little baby finger foods over the weekend. She has done very well with those. She is a talker and has mastered the Indian talk. She smiles and laughs at all times unless she is hungry or someone that isn't her momma and daddy are holding her.
Christmas is in full swing at our house. I love this time of year especially having kids. We have three trees this year. 2 are smaller fake ones that were meant to go in the kids' rooms but the lights kept them up so they are now in the kitchen and living room and we have our real tree too. I haven't had to worry one bit about my nearly 4.5 year olds messing with the gift under the tree but put Tutu on the floor and she dashes to the presents and tries to open them! We've done a lot of Christmas things this year and it's so much fun to share the excitement with the kids. We didn't plan to do any trips like we usually do because we were unsure how Gracie would heal after surgery. Turns out nothing keeps her down and we probably could have done something but we've at least have had a good time around our area. Our Elf has been a life safer with keeping the kids well minding this season... maybe I should find a way to make him year round?
Gracie had her surgery the week of Thanksgiving and other than the first night, she has done fantastic! We will go back next week and the Plastic Surgeon will most likely release us back to the Orthopedic. The hardest part has been keeping her from running, jumping, etc. She is walking better (straighten leg) more and more every day.
The kids are doing well in school. Madi has really soared and it's amazing how much she is learning and growing. Sometimes a little to big for her own good. Gracie and Brody have very recently both learned how to spell their names and are working at consistently writing their names.
The biggest news is we are really working on potty training Brody. We've really been on it since this past weekend and we are getting there. Life will be much better for him once he is potty trained.
He is going for some testing tomorrow to get an outside opinion on his abilities to learn vs what the school thinks. Outside information is always best in my opinion. Last week we learned he had been wearing glasses that are too strong for him so I think with the changes being made, we are well on our way to getting him set up to be super successful.
I hope everyone received the Christmas cards. We thought they turned out so cute this year!
Merry Christmas!

Comparing

WOW! What a difference a year makes. They are growing so quickly even if they are way too small for their age. I must remember to take these photos every year.

Pre K 2014

They were so excited to get to school and had no problems at all when Ricky, Truette and I left. Madi is by far the most excited and cannot wait to get on that school bus this afternoon.
Ricky started school today so it's just Truette and I for a few blissful hours. I am going to enjoy every second of it because when I start back to school on Wednesday, I know I'm going to be stretched thin.
I feel really good about this school year. I'm hoping and praying that the gaps will close with Brody and Gracie and they will be able to attend regular ed classes without and special ed teachers other than vision for Brody. I think this is exactly what Madi needed and she will thrive.

How cute are they!?
