Hi Granny, we hope you had a great birthday!
The babies are doing great today. Tonight we gave Madi her bath. We actually got everything done in about 20 minutes! Whoo Hoo for us :) Madi is now 4 lbs 2.5 oz!!! Little Chicken has finally crossed over. Her preemie clothes are really starting to fit her good. If you have never had a chance to smell a freshly washed baby, smell one as soon as humanly possible. We both just wanted to take her home with us!
I held Gracie tonight. She did very well. This girl is going to UT because she is always giving the hook em horns sign. I keep telling her that maroon is Aggie colors and she should really work on that but there is no explaining while she is unhappy. She is such a precious little thing with the thickest brown hair. This girl has so much hair! Even all the times they've shaved it for IVs its grown back and thick. It is much easier to hold her with her central line out. That is right; this little girl has no IV for the first time in her life!! She is also doing very well with breathing so I hope they can turn down her C Pap settings tomorrow.
Ricky held Brody tonight. He did very well. He is doing very well with his vent settings. They were able to lower them even after yesterday's event so we are pleased with that. They will be taking a blood gas in the morning to see if the settings can be lowered again. The doctor told me they would try C Pap on him again in a week but this time load him up on an even higher dose of caffeine. She thinks they did not give him enough and did not wait long enough for it to kick in.
In other news, the babies will get their first set of shots on my birthday :( That means babies that can't be held and will not feel the greatest :( oh well.
Krista
