Gracie's surgery

Gracie's surgery went great.

This time around the surgery was on a floor just for surgeries. It was very busy in that floor. They had a ton of kids going back at the same time so families were everywhere. I was not to thrilled with the set up to say the least. I was looking for a more calm setting. At any rate, we met with the ENT and Anesthesia doctor, signed the releases, and Gracie went to the Anesthesia doctor- kind of like she had known him all her life. That just the thing about her.... she keeps that light bulb smile.

They got us from the waiting room to join her in recovery. She was still asleep at first but quickly woke up. This time she did have a little trouble coming out of the sedation. She was jerking around really bad. In fact, I couldn't even hold her because she was jerking so bad so I had to give her to Ricky. She liked that anyway since he is her favorite... stinker. He was even having trouble with her jerking around. She was letting us know that she did not like that IV in her hand and wanted it out.
30 minutes after surgery we were in the car headed home. We both passed out on the way.
Thankfully Meme came over in the wee hours of the morning to watch Brody and Madi. I went to sleep as soon as we got home because I was up all night.
Ricky said she did great the rest of the day. She was eating and acting like normal. She still does not have her new voice yet. The doctor said she will have scratchy voice for the weekend but should be good to go by Monday. We will need to follow up with him before Thanksgiving. There was not cutting, they went through her mouth to her cord and injected it.
We really appreciate all the prayers. For the first time in over a month things seem to be looking up. It is so refreshing to have things going right!
Now we just have to get through our little man's surgery on November 10th. After that we will be resting and enjoying the holidays!
