We need rain.
Our street was on fire yesterday. One of the scariest natural events that I've ever experienced.
Kingwood is known for all of the greenbelt trails and is called the livable forest. You can probably gather that it has a lot of wooded areas. Well the fire department thinks someone was smoking and started the fire on the trails on our street.
The flames were higher than the power lines and the tops of trees were on fire. Every time you thought the fire department had it under control it would start shooting up again. My house was not affected but the houses across the street were. Me and another lady were gathering animals out of backyards and houses. It was so scary. The smoke was horrible. Once all the animals were safe and everyone was out of their homes, I left with the babies to get away from all the smoke. Babies with chronic lung disease and smoke don't mix well. Heck, my asthma went crazy with all the smoke! Anyway, we came back around 9 last night and everything was put out.
I went to see the damage this morning and it is bad but it could have been a lot worse. One of the houses across the street has fire damage 4 foot form her back door! Talk about scary!
Texas needs rain. There are hundreds of fires all over and thousands of people who have lost everything, they have nothing to go back to. There have even been a couple of deaths.
Please keep everyone affected by these fires in your prayers. I think everyone is on edge because you don't know if your next.
