Jayden and our babies are 5 months apart. He is a very special little man and very dear to mine and Ricky's hearts. He was born blind and deaf. He has several other issues going on but the thing that is so amazing about this story is this: "mysteriously" his hearing is getting better, "mysteriously" his retina's attached a little when the doctor's thought there was no chance. It is no mystery to us because we know God is still writing this little boys story.
Today I feel guilty. I have so much guilt. For the most part, my babies are healthy and thriving and although we do get bad news from time to time, it is nothing like what my best friend goes through weekly. She receives good news one day to be knocked down the next. She handles this situation, her new normal, with such strength- all the while she is taking care of her 3 year old and working full time. I feel guilty because I know I couldn't do it. I couldn't have so much on my plate. I feel guilty because I feel overwhelmed most days but I don't have half of the struggle she has. It is a real eye opener.
Our system is broken and is failing this little boy. No matter the stupid government programs that keep slamming the door shut, God never will. Ricky and I never will. And no matter what, there will come a day when Jayden and Brody will play in the dirt!
We are so fortunate to have such wonderful, prayerful readers. PLEASE keep this family and little boy in your prayers.
For those with "normal" babies and children be thankful. Be thankful when they are running around and driving you crazy. Be thankful when they smile at you. Be thankful when they talk. Just be thankful. And I need to be more thankful too.
We are so blessed for our babies to have these cousins in their lives. (We consider Klayton & Christina Ricky's brother and sister since he has none) And I'm so blessed to have a sister n law and best friend!
We love you our favorite Patton family! We will be here for you all ALWAYS!
