Life with a baby home...

is amazing! Ricky and I took her to the pediatrician this morning. We really like him and the fact that his group is part of Texas Childrens and that his office is in Kingwood!! The plan is to keep things the same as the Neonatologist have it until she is closer to newborn age (she is 36 weeks and term is 40 weeks). Once we are there, he will work with a Pulmonologist and other specialists to wean her off the oxygen, apnea monitor, and medications. Until then, we are just fine with the way things are. Her weight is 5 pounds 3 ounces. She continues to be great with her schedule. Every 3 hours she eats but we have to start getting her ready about 30 minutes before her bottle. It takes her about 30 minutes to eat and burp then, we do it all again. She is getting more alert during her wake times. She is really great! Ricky is really awesome with her. The babies are very lucky to have him :)
Gracie went for her test today on her kidneys. The nurse said she did really well with it and we should have the results tomorrow. No matter what the result, her kidneys do work which is more than when I was pregnant with her so that is already good news. She is 4 lbs 8 oz. She will get her first bottle on Friday! The Neonatologist told the Pediatrician that they think Gracie will be home in 2-3 weeks. I'm really excited to get her home too!!
Brody had a great day today! They have weaned his breaths the machine was giving him all the way down to zero so he is taking all his own breaths. The machine is now providing pressure and keeping his airways open. I am very worried about his eyes. I hope everything is okay and they heal they way they need to for vision. Please pray for his vision. The doctor talked with the surgeon today on his reconnect. I will have the date tomorrow. I am ready for them to reconnect so they can force him off the vent and he can come home. They are talking about putting him in a crib. That makes me really sad because his first crib is suppose to be the one we bought him with his bedding and everything. Plus, when your in the NICU and you see those cribs, they are for chronic kids. You just don't want your little boy to be a chronic baby. The fact that he is 5 pounds 10 oz and very long makes it even harder because I feel like he is growing up in the hospital. I hate that for him. I know Gracie will be home soon so I don't feel like that with her but Brody is another story because we don't know when he can come home.
I had a light bulb moment while cleaning the million bottles we used today: The key to life with multiples is extreme organization and scheduling. I'm talking OCD total type A, take charge, just do it type system. Since I just had this bright idea, I'm now trying to get everything in order. I haven't figured out how to conquer doctor appointments since going with just Madi was really hard today. You have to carry her in her car seat, the oxygen and apnea monitor, plus the diaper bag. The stuff is really heavy! We get a handicap sticker since we have babies on oxygen but even parking close won't change all the "stuff" we have to carry.

Needed:
New house at least 5 bedrooms with a playroom and TV room... can someone please play the Lotto? This little house is packed full :o)
